5. Healing Developmental Trauma: Design an online course for professionals to access via the CPDC website

Description Important theme/opportunity: help professionals and non understand differences between shock and trauma – most professionals don’t know the difference. Audience is professional: therapists, people teaching at university level, crossover – identical for the workshops.

Comments Some overlap with CR series (see below). Online courses are stand-alone – Weinholds have 3 now on HDT. Key here is to help people connect the dots, Barry has tools that will help with that; also ‘trauma of elimination technique’ using acupressure to uncover trauma; could be self-administered – a lot of the material exists now, almost all of it. Don’t have videotape of Barry now , but can create these through CPDC and CEUs; some sets of several assessments with the HDT series; “Two Lists” – think about your childhood, all that happened, ‘wished I got but didn’t’ (codependent issues), and ‘got it but didn’t want it’ (counterdependent issues).
Ideas, Issues, Decisions

6. “Freaked Out”: Design an online course on developmental trauma for the general public

Description Help people identify the causes of this condition and what they can do about it. This also becomes a resource for the clients of professionals. The professionals can recommend that their clients complete this e-course as part of their therapy. Only content available so far is the outline and Introduction.Audience: ordinary people anywhere in the world with a computer who are being “freaked out” by what life hands to them on a daily basis and are experiencing frequent disruptions in their relationships and elsewhere. These are the people who are curious and want to find out why this is happening to them. I know that most of their experiences of being freaked out are due to undiscovered and unhealed developmental trauma. We have already created tons of content related to this problem. (See my Introduction for more on who thees people are and why developmental trauma is the cause of them being “freaked out.”)
Next Steps and Tasks
TASK OWNER DUE
Examine outline and Intro and propose online course options. Bob

  • Date: Checkpoint 3
Comments A lot of this has been adapted by Barry for non-professional audience.How will
Ideas, Issues, Decisions Need a more complete definition of the content and structure of the online course.

7. e-Courses from already published e-books

Description Each chapter in the book can be organized as a class session. The ones that would lend themselves to e-course would be the following e-books:

  1. The Con Job
  2. Breaking Free [1] has been a workshop for professionals and non;
    1. 12 Patterns identified transmitted intergenerationally
    2. Materials: inventories, written exercises, would need to record live sessions and put them online;
  3. The Male Mother course for fathers [2] – Barry has outlined Servant Leader book, ready to be written.
  4. All the other e-books in the Real Men series.

8. Conflict Resolution workshop for professionals: Design a e-course

  • Date: Checkpoint 2
  • Date: Checkpoint 3
Comments Some overlap with HDT series (see above). Audience could also include general public – Values and Beliefs, Values Continuum; high functioning non-professionals could watch videos and read about principles, and take away a lot; Barry has various tools and methods; also ‘intractable conflict’ based on deep trauma; with CR, help people identify their own CR methods; 3 assessments/methods of CR: Flight Fight Freeze; lots of ways to make these fun with Youtube/video; not much PPT available now.
